the city makes you pay to live in the shelter and if city welfare helps you with a place to stay you end up in debt with them in the amount of $2,000 then families and transitions charges families 30 percent of their income to stay at the shelter and city welfare owns 4 of the rooms at the family shelter and they take 74 percent of your income to stay at a shelter.. they definitely do not help you get out of financial hardship or anything all they do is put you into debt I had no debt when I asked them for help because I became homeless with my children and if I could have afforded 8:33 for a week in a hotel I would have done it but apparently I should have just went out and got a f****** personal loan because I still have to pay 8:33 for one week 8:33 for another week and then 175 every week to live in the families entransition family shelter because the city of Manchester is a f****** joke
