Kayla Nicole Sets Record Straight on Relationship With Travis Kelce

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce found love with pop star Taylor Swift, a relationship that's captured the nation's attention over the past year.

While Kelce's romance with Swift continues to dominate headlines, the 35-year-old's ex-girlfriend, Kayla Nicola, caught some unwanted attention. Nicole and Kelce dated on and off for five years before officially breaking up in 2022. While there's no overlap, Nicole still receives hateful messages from Switie trolls on social media

As a sports broadcaster, the Pepperdine alum will sometimes comment on Kelce and the Chiefs, which also raised some eyebrows. However, during an appearance on Angel Reese's podcast, which premiered on Oct. 10, Nicole set the record straight on her relationship with Kelce.

Reese asked if she's "still cool" with Kelce, "I mean, I'd probably hit him with a head nod," Nicole answered . "That's about it."

"We've seen each other in public spaces, but I think that we're both aware of the nature of his new situation that there's just no room really for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly without it being spun into something crazy so we just keep it moving."

And as for the rumors that she and Kelce broke up due to him insisting that they split the bills 50/50, Nicole couldn't help but laugh. "That was ridiculous," she said.

The Tribe Therepe founder also addressed how discussing the Chiefs is simply part of her job. In a clip shared with I Am Athlete Daily's Instagram earlier this week, she briefly noted Kelce's "slow start," an issue mentioned by fellow analysts across the league before the Chiefs' win over the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football game.

"To think I'm not going to talk about the best team in the NFL, with the best quarterback, and the best tight end, it's like that's going to come with the territory," Nicole said. "They're going to have to get over it."

Reese noted how she was a huge fan of Kelce and Nicole's relationship. "He's a great guy," Nicole replied. "And that was a good time in my life."
