Longtime Donald Trump ally and political trickster Roger Stone was caught on a secret undercover recording by documentarian Lauren Windsor advocating for "armed guards" to be stationed at polling places during an August event in Jacksonville, Florida, Rolling Stone reported Thursday.

When Windsor, not revealing her identity, asked Stone how to prevent Democrats from "stealing" the election, Stone replied, “We have to fight it out on a state-by-state basis, but you have to be ready."

"When they throw us out of Detroit, you go get a court order, you come in with your own armed guards, and you, and you dispute it," he said. "Instead, our guys just left.”

Stone appeared to be talking about confusion that unfolded at Huntington Place convention center in Detroit, a 2020 ballot counting station, where Trump supporters banged on windows and tried to storm the complex based on a hoax that workers were stuffing the ballot box.

At the same event, "A Night with Roger Stone," the far-right strategist also took aim at former President Donald Trump's one-time Attorney General William Barr, who despite being a proponent of presidential power, refused to push Trump's false claims about voter fraud.

Stone also remained furious that Barr did not stop federal prosecutors from criminally convicting him of obstruction and false statements in connection with former special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia investigation.

Barr notably stepped into the case and recommended a slap on the wrist on Stone's behalf, and Trump later commuted his sentence.

“We never really had control,” said Stone. “I was indicted by Trump’s Justice Department. Bill Barr is a traitorous piece of human garbage … he’s a piece of s---.”

He added that “Trump read a law review article, never checked his background, and made him attorney general. Once we get back in he has to go to prison, he has to go to prison, he’s a criminal.”

Stone is known for having been present in Washington, D.C. on the day of the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, where he was in close contact with the far-right group the Oath Keepers and had them run security for him . Key leaders of the Oath Keepers went on to be convicted of seditious conspiracy for their role in the attack.
