The focus will be on children. Officials estimate that 30% of kids in Hawkins County have food insecurity.First Christian Church is located at 210 S. Depot St. in Rogersville.Each Saturday from 5-7 p.m., the kitchen and fellowship hall at the church will be open for kids or anybody else in need of a meal.There will be no take-out meals; the meals must be eaten on the premises.Each meal will include a hot sandwich, chips, baked beans, a dessert cake and a drink. The sandwiches available to choose from will be hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled cheese and fried bologna.There is a Facebook page where weather-related closures will be announced when necessary.“I’m thankful for the leadership and volunteers in our congregation that are willing to step out on faith to meet a need, and to share the love of Jesus with those around us,” Overdorf said.</div></body>
