Bleacher Report gives bizarre reasons why Celtics can't go back-to-back

Bleacher Report just came out with reasons why every team won’t win the championship this year , and their reasoning for the Boston Celtics was pretty bizarre. According to BR, the Celtics lack of center depth and the fact there hasn’t been a repeat champ since 2018 will be their undoing.

Addressing the center depth is a real concern to be fair, but not a championship-buster. Kristaps Porzingis will be out for the rest of 2024, so Al Horford, Luke Kornet, and Xavier Tillman will be taking reps at the five.

BR cited Al Horford’s age as a problem, being 38, but Horford was the second best 3&D player last season using advanced metrics , so his age really isn’t a factor.

As for the repeat champion problem, the last team to do it was Golden State in 2017 and 2018. The only reason they didn’t three-peat was because their entire starting lineup was injured in 2019.

BR also cited championship hangovers as a problem, where teams take it easy just because they won it all, they think they are better than everyone.

However, the Celtics have been the center of so much criticism and controversy this offseason, they never really got the hangover, and are as "sober" as ever.

The Celtics are definitely making a deep playoff run, and probably running it back-to-back. All fans and critics can do now is sit back and watch.
