This week heralded the emotional release of From Here to the Great Unknown, Lisa Marie Presley's autobiography published posthumously through the efforts of her daughter, Riley Keough.

The narrative, penned by Elvis Presley's only child who sadly departed last year at 54, recounts the haunting story of her iconic father's untimely passing at a time when she was just a fragile nine-year-old girl. During Elvis's final four and a half years, he shared his life with Linda Thompson; a time during which she lived alongside him at Graceland, also becoming an important figure in young Lisa Marie's life.

Thompson, now 74 and ever-reflective of her days by the King's side, recently took to social media bearing touching snapshots of that fabled early Seventies era. Alongside these memories, the former Miss Tennessee beauty admired the heartfelt words about her in the memoir, as noted by the Express.

Linda warmly inscribed on her Instagram: "Just starting to read From Here to the Great Unknown by Lisa Marie Presley and Riley Keogh. Lisa Marie was only nine years old when her beloved daddy tragically died."

Riley Keough has spoken out about her mum Lisa Marie Presley's decision to keep her late son Benjamin's body at home after his death. Lisa Marie's memoir revealed she kept Benjamin's body on dry ice at her home after he took his own life in 2020, reports the Mirror .

Riley told People magazine: "If my mom were here, she'd be like, 'Yeah, whatever. I don't care. If people think that's crazy, they can go f---themselves.' " She explained that her mum made the decision to keep Benjamin at home so she could have control over the situation during the uncertain times of the COVID-19 pandemic. Priscilla Presley also shared a heartfelt message about her memories with Elvis and Lisa Marie, saying: "Cognizant memory doesn't actually begin until about four years old, so each treasured memory she could recall about her father becomes even more special. It means everything to me that Elvis closed his eyes and took his last breath with the knowledge that I truly loved him... And that Lisa Marie also felt that assurance in her heart- that my love for her and her daddy was real, pure, and unconditional. The way we make others feel seen, loved and valued for who they are is everything. I am grateful for those years of living with and loving Elvis and Lisa Marie."

She further stated: "The truth is that it was COVID and the plans to bury him were really unclear. We needed to get to Graceland, and it was really hard because it was COVID, and we didn't know who was going to come, so there was a lot of planning that needed to happen. She didn't want his body to be somewhere where people could mess with it."
