The Davante Adams trade sweepstakes may no longer be a two-team race. While the New York Jets and New Orleans Saints have been widely considered the frontrunners for the Las Vegas Raiders star, a wild week may have swung the door open for a new team.

Jets owner Woody Johnson made a surprising decision to fire head coach Robert Saleh five games into the 2024 NFL season. This has led to questions surrounding the team, including the ongoing topic of how to fix their struggling offense.

However, the impact of Derek Carr's injury is just as noteworthy. The Saints quarterback and former teammate/close friend of Adams is expected to miss multiple weeks with an oblique injury.

As things remain somewhat up in the air for the Jets and Saints, former Raiders fullback and executive Marcel Reece hinted at a "sneaky team" poised to jump into the mix for Adams.

Reece, also a former analyst for NFL Network, joined Kay Adams on the Up & Adams show to discuss the Raiders wideout.

"I'm gonna tell you this because I'm a little closer to the situation than I should be," Reece said. "There's a couple teams, and I think there's a sneaky team that a lot of people aren't talking about that could come in late [for Adams]."

Adams guessed the team was the Buffalo Bills, asking if it rhymes with "Schmills." Reece's reaction alone may have answered if Adams guessed correctly.

The Bills would make perfect sense as a suitor for Adams, even putting aside Khalil Shakir's ankle injury, which caused him to miss Week 5. The Bills have lost in the divisional round of the playoffs each of the past three seasons while falling in the AFC Championship Game before that in 2020.

Although Buffalo has young talent at wideout this season, adding a clear-cut game-changer like Adams could elevate the team to a new level. The Bills also have an opportunity to run away in the AFC East, as the Jets have struggled to start the year and the Miami Dolphins have sputtered offensively without Tua Tagovailoa.
