    Portion of Walker Avenue closed Friday and Monday for roadwork

    Paving work scheduled for days when school district classes are not in session

    A quarter-mile stretch of Walker Avenue between the railroad tracks and East Main Street will be closed Friday, Oct. 11, and Monday, Oct. 14, so roadwork can be done,the city of Ashland announced Thursday.

    Profiling and grinding work is planned for 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, while overlay is set to be laid down Monday from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.

    Ashland Public Schools, including Ashland Middle and Walker Elementary schools on Walker Avenue, will not be in session either day — on Friday due to a planning day and on Monday for Indigenous Peoples Day.
