    Photojournalism tips from a professional

    Local photographer Bob Palermini to present at the Southern Oregon Photographic Association meeting

    Bob Palermini will give a presentation about photojournalism at the Southern Oregon Photographic Association (SOPA) meeting on Oct. 15 in Medford. He has been a photographer for Ashland.news since shortly after it debuted in January 2022.

    Palermini studied photojournalism in college and began his career in newspapers, working as a photographer, reporter and editor.

    In his presentation, he will discuss what photojournalism is, its history, ethical standards, typical assignments, key shots and equipment.

    The Southern Oregon Photographic Association has been a gathering place for Rogue Valley amateur photographers since 1961. Meetings are open to the public, and all skill levels are invited.

    The meeting begins at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 15. SOPA meets at the Medford United Church of Christ, 1801 E. Jackson Street, Medford.
