Do you remember that slogan? That’s probably why so many of us love eggs. That and they are really easy to prepare. But as we sing the virtues of eggs across America we must inform you that sometimes nature’s perfect food isn’t so perfect after all. The Food and Drug Administration has just announced that they are <a href="https://www.al.com/news/2024/10/check-your-fridge-for-these-brands-fda-has-upgraded-its-recall-on-eggs.html" rel="nofollow"> upgrading a recall on eggs </a> that was originally ordered on September 6th. <figure class="content-post-image alignnone" id="attachment_594041"><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=1yCXAV_0w2o9xM700" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=1yCXAV_0w2o9xM700" width="630" height="388" ><figcaption>Mehmet GÃ¶khan Bayhan </figcaption></figure> The initial recall was made for products produced by Milo’s Poultry Farms LLC. The reason for the recall was <a href="https://www.today.com/health/recall/fda-egg-recall-salmonella-rcna174269" rel="nofollow"> a potential salmonella contamination </a> . Most of those products were distributed in the Midwest but it’s possible some of the “bad eggs” could have made their way to your refrigerator. The <a href="https://www.fda.gov/safety/recalls-market-withdrawals-safety-alerts/milos-poultry-farms-llc-recalls-eggs-because-possible-health-risk" rel="nofollow"> FDA announcement states </a> that the recall includes: <ul class="article__unordered-list"><li> All carton sizes and all egg types labeled with “Milo’s Poultry Farms.” This recall covers all expiration dates. </li><li> All carton sizes of “Tony’s Fresh Market” branded eggs, all expiration dates. </li><li> All cases of eggs for retail foodservice distribution, all expiration dates. <figure class="content-post-image alignnone" id="attachment_575665"><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=2CmwFg_0w2o9xM700" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=2CmwFg_0w2o9xM700" width="630" height="420" ><figcaption>(Photo by Christopher Furlong/Getty Images) </figcaption></figure></li></ul><a href="https://www.fda.gov/" rel="nofollow"> According to the FDA </a> , some <a href="https://www.cdc.gov/salmonella/eggs-09-24/details.html" rel="nofollow"> 65 individuals have been infected </a> with the strain of salmonella associated with this recall. The illness reports come from nine different states, again most of them in the Midwest.
