Dominik Szoboszlai has struck a new partnership deal with Red Bull as Liverpool’s connections with the energy drink company continue.

Szoboszlai announced the partnership on his social media on Thursday, with the Reds midfielder posting a video to confirm the new deal. In it, the 23-year-old is seen drinking a Red Bull before driving one of the brand’s cars around a racing track.

RB Leipzig star Xavi Simons also appears in the video as he welcomes Szoboszlai to the Red Bull family. The Hungarian of course played for Leipzig before making the move to Liverpool in 2023, having also starred for Red Bull Salzburg previously.

Szoboszlai’s deal with Red Bull came just a day after Jurgen Klopp was announced as the company’s new Global Head of Soccer . The former Liverpool boss will take up his new role, which will see him advising Red Bull’s stable of teams on all football matters, in January.

The move sees Klopp take up his first permanent role since leaving Anfield in the summer. His new job has not gone down too well in Germany though , particularly among supporters of his previous clubs Borussia Dortmund and Mainz.

Szoboszlai’s link-up with Red Bull is his second major sponsorship deal since making the move to Liverpool, having also become the face of McDonald’s in his native Hungary during the summer. The midfielder is not the only current Liverpool player to have struck a deal with Red Bull in recent times, with Trent Alexander-Arnold previously reaching a similar agreement with the company.

Liverpool.com says: Szoboszlai has had a long association with Red Bull, so this new deal isn’t much of a surprise. It continues what is becoming a long line of links between Liverpool and the energy drink company.

Of course, Klopp is now involved with them, which could open up some interesting opportunities for the Reds down the line. Liverpool has already shown a penchant for signing stars from the Red Bull stable, with Szoboszlai one of those to have been given the company’s seal of approval.

The connection continued during the summer with Pep Lijnders taking over at Salzburg, and having Bobby Clark and Stefan Bajcetic follow him there – granted, it isn’t quite going to plan for the former Liverpool assistant. Still, it would be no surprise to see more players move between the Red Bull stable and Anfield – Xavi Simons for one could be of interest soon.
