49ers Cornerback Rips DK Metcalf After Win

San Francisco 49ers cornerback Deommodore Lenoir had some bold words for Seahawks' DK Metcalf following their big win, adding fuel to the NFC West rivalry.

Lenoir and the 49ers' defense held Metcalf to just three catches for 48 yards, frustrating the Seahawks' star receiver throughout the game.

Although Metcalf came close to making a big impact, including a near-touchdown where he narrowly stepped out of bounds and a 53-yard score that was negated by a penalty, Lenoir and the 49ers ultimately kept him in check, helping secure the divisional win.

"The Hyena can’t be f---ed with,” Lenoir said after the game, referring to his nickname. “For real. That’s all I know. I don’t know what (Metcalf) was doing out there.”

Metcal entered Thursday's matchup ranked fourth in the NFL in receiving yards (421). While Lenoir didn't shadow Metcalf, he saw his fair share of time on the two-time Pro Bowler and exchanged some trash talk.

“Yeah, there was a lot of conversation out there,” Lenoir said. “You’re going to compete. It’s football. We kept it football. But one of us showed up today.”

San Francisco rolled to the victory behind 483 yards of offense, averaging 7.9 yards per play. Quarterback Brock Purdy had one of his best games of the season, passing for 225 yards and three touchdowns.

The 49ers will look to keep the momentum rolling next week against the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
