Ohio State enters Saturday against Oregon at 5-0 and to move to 6-0 they need to pick up their most impressive win of the season yet.

The Buckeyes haven’t been tested in a way that they will on Saturday when No. 2 meets No. 3 . The prime-time matchup may just be their toughest game of the regular season.

Heading into the game, head coach Ryan Day has a firm idea of what the Buckeyes need to do to grab the signature road win in Eugene, Oregon.

“The turnover battle is huge,” Day stated . “The battle of field position becomes critically important and we’ve got to take care of the football in this game. We’ve got to make sure we’re finishing drives.”

Ohio State and Oregon last played in 2021 and the Ducks won that game by a score of 35-28. This season the teams could meet as many as three times. There is a possibility they will see each other in the Big Ten Championship and College Football Playoff.

Last week against Iowa was the toughest matchup the Buckeyes have had to date. Ohio State rolled to a 35-7 win at home a week after beating Michigan State. The Buckeyes defense is leading the way so far for the team and they’re allowing the third least yards in the country at 218. The offense is putting together 515 yards a game, but the Buckeyes haven’t yet had a game where the starters played a full game.

Saturday is going to be a huge Big Ten battle and a chance for Ryan Day to pick up one of his biggest wins yet since he’s been the head coach. The stakes aren’t as high in the regular season, but a statement this early could be huge.
