    1. Tsubascon

    Anime, gaming and pop culture aficionados gather for a weekend of fun at this convention in Charleston. Tons of activities, food, games, karaoke, contests, cosplay and other entertainment for all ages, with a few 18+-only events thrown in.

    If you go: Friday, 11 a.m.-11:30 p.m; Saturday, 10 a.m.-11:30 p.m.; Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $25-$55 adults, $15-$30 children. Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center, 200 Civic Center Drive in Charleston.

    2. Harvest Art Fair

    One of the first events to kick off the 10-day FestivFALL celebration is the annual art and craft fair at Capitol Market. Get a head start on your holiday purchases with goods from West Virginia artisans.

    If you go: Saturday, 10 a.m.- 6 p.m; Sunday, 12-5 p.m. Free entrance. Capitol Market, 800 Smith Street in Charleston.

    3. City Center Dead

    Fan of the Grateful Dead? Then you won’t want to miss this one. Musicians John Inghram, Eric Weingrad, Brandon Bowlds and Brad Goodall perform classic hits at the year’s last City Center Live event. Food trucks and activities will also be on site.

    4. Morgan's Kitchen Festival

    The historic Morgan’s Kitchen off MacCorkle Avenue in St. Albans comes alive for this fall celebration. There’ll be music, food, crafts, vendors, reenactors, apple butter making and more. This event is sponsored by the St. Albans Historical Society.

    5. WVSU Homecoming

    The Yellow Jackets are celebrating Homecoming, and the whole community is invited. Kick the day off at 10:30 a.m. with the annual Homecoming Parade, then enjoy tailgating and fun at the free Family Fun Zone on campus.
