    SOUTH BEND, Ind.The YWCA of North Central Indiana gathered for its annual Tribute Awards Dinner last night, celebrating individuals and organizations dedicated to making a profound difference in the lives of women facing crisis. This prestigious event underscores the YWCA's mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and uplift the community.

    Susan Tybon, President and CEO of the YWCA, expressed her admiration for the local women making significant impacts. "There are so many women in the South Bend community doing incredible things, often without recognition. By raising awareness, we can engage others and inspire them to join in the fight for women's empowerment and racial equality," Tybon stated.

    This year's honorees included:

    • Bethany Hartley: Recognized as Woman of the Year for her exceptional contributions to women's advocacy.
    • Retired Judge Michael Gotsch: Awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for his enduring commitment to justice and community service.
    • Amber Pulford: Named a Woman to Watch for her inspiring leadership and potential.
    • The Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians: Honored with the Community Champion Award for their ongoing support of local initiatives that benefit women and families.

    The YWCA provides vital services, including safe shelter, counseling, classes, and childcare, assisting over 3,000 individuals in crisis each year. The Tribute Awards Dinner not only highlights the accomplishments of its honorees but also serves as a reminder of the collective effort needed to support and uplift those in need within our community.
