Karen Huger Reacts to Ashley Darby’s Delayed Divorce: ‘She’s Smart’

Real Housewives of Potomac star Ashely Darby is finally ready to begin the divorce process. She dropped the big news on the Season 9 premiere episode. Ashley has been separated from Michael Darby for a couple of years now, and fans have been waiting to see if she would ever pull the trigger. However, Karen Huger has an opinion on Ashley waiting it out. And let’s just say The Grande Dame approves of her timeline.

Karen Huger thinks Ashley Darby waited to move forward with the divorce so she could get her “coins”

Even though Ashley is not officially divorced, she has been dipping her toe into the dating world. She made big waves in the Bravoverse when she dated Summer House star Luke Gulbranson . Everyone and their mother shipped that couple, but unfortunately, it didn’t work out between the two of them.

While things didn’t work out with Luke, Ashley still went out on the town and possibly made a romantic connection with a friend . During the RHOP Season 9 premiere episode, Ashley mentioned she wanted to get a move on with her divorce to test drive as many cars as possible. Vroom, vroom, baby!

However, Karen doesn’t think that wanting to go on dates is the only reason why Ashley is finally moving forward with the divorce process. The Grande Dame was on Watch What Happens Live when she dished her thoughts to Andy Cohen .

A caller asked Karen, “Why do you think Ashley waited this long to move forward with her divorce?” Karen replied without any hesitation. She responded, “She’s smart. You got to work those deals out till you get your coins.” Perhaps some of those deals included the new home Ashley bought with Michael during Season 8?

We’ll likely learn more about Ashley’s divorce and love life as the new season progresses. And Karen will be vocal either way if she approves of Ashley’s decisions or not. She doesn’t have many regrets and will stand firm on her opinions of Ashley and the rest of the crew.
