Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has arrived in Berlin on the final leg of his whistle-stop tour through Europe.

Zelensky landed at the Chancellery in the German capital in a helicopter ahead of meetings with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The Ukrainian leader was also set to meet German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier later on Friday.

Talks are expected to focus on continued support for Ukraine in the form of arms deliveries for its defence against Russia, but also on efforts to find a peaceful solution to the war.

Zelensky had been due to attend a key international summit at the US air base in Ramstein in western Germany on Saturday, but the meeting was cancelled after US President Joe Biden decided to stay home to respond to Hurricane Milton.

Instead of attending the summit, Zelensky is now coming to Berlin for a bilateral visit on Friday, following talks in London, Paris and Rome.

It is Zelensky's second visit to Germany, and his third personal meeting with Scholz, within five weeks.
