Man Dies from Gunshot Wounds in Wayne County Drive-By

A man in Wayne County passed away from gunshot wounds received in a drive-by shooting.

On the evening of Tuesday, October 8th, deputies with Wayne County Sheriff's Department responded to a call regarding a drive-by shooting on Claiborne Jones Road in Waynesboro. This occured at approximately 10:15 p.m.

According to WJTV-12, when the deputies arrived on the scene, they encountered the victim, a forty four year old man. The victim, identified as Eddie Poole, Jr., was suffering from gunshot wounds received in the drive-by.

Poole was taken to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and died.
