<body><div><p>Mizzou baseball held the first game of its Fall World Series at Taylor Stadium on Thursday, an intrasquad scrimmage that followed the team’s two-game road trip to Chicago.</p><p>Los Tigres dominated TWT 9-3 in the first of five Fall World Series games, which will have modified rules. Four players stepped up to bat every half-inning no matter what, and runners that were left on base to end an inning stayed on their respective bases the next time their team batted.</p><p>The star of Game 1 was junior outfielder Jeric Curtis. After a 2024 season where he didn’t hit a home run in 126 at-bats , Curtis crushed two long balls Thursday, including a leadoff homer on the first pitch of the game.</p><p>Game 2 of the Fall World Series will take place at 5:30 p.m. Friday at Taylor Stadium.</p><h2>Mizzou softball dominates Kaskaskia College</h2><p>Over at Mizzou Softball Stadium, the Tigers took care of business with a 24-0 rout of Kaskaskia College.</p><p>Larissa Anderson’s crew will battle Illinois at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mizzou Softball Stadium.</p><h2>Mizzou tennis has fruitful Day 2 at ITA Central Regional Championships</h2><p>Mizzou tennis earned three singles wins and one doubles victory at the ITA Central Regional Championships in Memphism Tennessee.</p><p>Graduate Lailaa Bashir and freshman Gian Octa dominated in their doubles match by winning 8-1 in an eight game pro set against Memphis duo Alice Amendola and Rebecca Frant.</p><p>Octa (6-3, 6-2) and freshman Sarah Hartel (6-2, 6-4) each secured a singles win. Senior Inah Canete also picked up a singles win, knocking off Iowa’s Pia Kranholdt 6-1, 6-1.</p><p>Bashir and Octa will compete in the round of 32 doubles 9 a.m. Friday. Canete will play in the main round draw of 32 singles at 10 a.m. Hartel and Octa will look to continue their success in the quarterfinals of the singles B draw, which begins at 2 p.m. in Memphis, Tennessee. </p></div></body>
