There are small towns in New England that put on a big show when it comes to fall foliage, according to Country Living.

The publication released a list of 20 small towns in America with the most beautiful fall foliage and included six New England spots: Stowe, Vermont ranked No. 3; Jefferson, N.H., ranked No. 6; Camden, Maine, ranked No. 10; Kent, Conn., ranked No. 12; Sugar Hill, N.H., ranked No. 13; and Bristol, R.I., ranked No. 20.

In Stowe, Vermont, travelers will find “brilliant” colors in late September and early October, the publication wrote, and Jefferson, N.H., is a “charming” town near the White Mountains with “amazing scenery and vibrant colors.”

Camden, Maine, described as “where the mountains meet the sea,” is rich in small town history, and Kent, Conn., offers plenty of “old-fashioned charm” as well as views of the Catskills, according to the publication. Travelers will find color in one of the youngest towns in the Granite State in Sugar Hill, N.H., and “brilliant” shades of red, orange, and yellow in Bristol, R.I., wrote Country Living.

The No. 1 small town for fall foliage is Saranac Lake, N.Y.
