    Kansas State health updates

Monday Kansas State head coach Chris Klieman mentioned it was possible for nose guard Uso Seumalo to play Saturday at Colorado. K-State defensive coordinator Joe Klanderman echoed the same sentiment Thursday. Seumalo has been running around at practice and Klanderman expects him to be ready to play.

Seumalo is big in a game like this versus the Buffaloes because of his ability to rush the passer. He is a bit more twitchy than the other defensive tackles in the room and can get to the quarterback. Klanderman also noted redshirt freshman Asher Tomaszewski has been moved up in practice and is playing well this week and Malcolm Alcorn-Crowder is making strides.

    Praise for Sanders

Shedeur Sanders is one of the best quarterbacks in the Big 12 and the country. He is always calm and in control of the huddle. It is hard to confuse him in pre or post snap looks because he has played a lot of football. Sanders is running the show of the entire Colorado offense and has the command in the locker room to be able to do so.

Like Noah Fifita at Arizona, Sanders is looking to throw when he extends plays so there is some similarities in how Kansas State will play defense. Extending plays is where Sanders and Colorado are the most dangerous. Unlike Fifita, though, Sanders climbs the pocket more and does not drop back as far because he is bigger than the Arizona quarterback.

    Colorado skill players

Travis Hunter gets much of the spotlight and attention when talking about Colorado’s skill players. However, Klanderman is worried about four different receivers for the Buffaloes and the unique abilities they have. It is a good skill group that plays within the Colorado scheme. This season the Buffaloes have been more matchup based offensively and scheming guys open more than using tempo like they did a season ago.
