The ARH Hurricane Relief Fund was established in the wake of Hurricane Helene, which caused catastrophic flooding in parts of North Carolina and Tennessee.

As we learned first-hand following the devastating 2022 eastern Kentucky flood, recovery doesn’t take place over night.

Residents were displaced, many left with only the clothes on their backs.

Some families whose homes were damaged and destroyed are living in tents, vehicles and shelters. As fall gives way to winter, many will struggle to stay warm.

That’s why we are extending our collection efforts to include items colder weather necessities, such as new coats, hats, gloves and blankets.

In our own time of need, we received assistance from loved ones and strangers – from near and far.

It is important that we never forget that kindness and that we pay it forward whenever possible.

    No donation is too small.

In addition to those cold weather items, here is how you can make a difference:

    Donate Supplies:

    • Gallon jugs of water
    • Read-to-eat canned food
    • Instant coffee
    • Baby formula, diapers and baby care items (wipes, baby bath wash, diaper rash creams, lotions, etc.)
    • Paper plates, plastic cups & utensils
    • Cleaning Supplies, including bleach, disinfectants, detergent, buckets, mops, brooms, rakes, shovels, scrub brushes, gloves (work and medical)
    • Heavy duty garbage bags
    • Mini camping stoves and small 20 lb. propane tanks
    • Charcoal
    • Lighter fluid
    • Grill lighters
    • Gas cans
    • Utility knives
    • Plastic totes/storage bins
    • Paper towels & toilet paper
    • Flashlights & batteries
    • Personal hygiene products (shampoo, body wash, hand soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrushes, etc.)
    • Insulin (in date only)
    • Basic medical supplies (In-date Tylenol, Ibuprofen, Vicks, antidiarrheal medications, band-aids, rubbing alcohol, antibiotic cream, etc.)

Drop off donations Monday-Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.  at the following locations:

    • ARH System Center (2260 Executive Drive, Lexington, Ky.)
    • Any ARH hospital location lobby

Monetary Donations: Support local relief efforts directly by donating to the ARH Hurricane Helene Relief Fund. Every dollar will go to local organizations in North Carolina and Tennessee providing direct relief to those affected by the catastrophic flooding.
