Giants vs. Bengals Preview: Can Dexter Lawrence Spoil Joe Burrow's Night?

    By Wil Riggs,

The New York Giants (2-3) will host the Cincinnati Bengals (1-4) on Sunday Night Football in Week 6. New York has won two of its last three after starting the season 0-2 with losses to the still undefeated Minnesota Vikings and the NFC East-leading Washington Commanders.

On offense, the Giants have to find a way to score touchdowns instead of field goals. New York’s record could easily be 4-1 if not for their kicker getting injured against the Commanders and had they scored just one touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys.

Quarterback Daniel Jones has played fairly well this year. He threw two interceptions in Week 1, but has thrown six touchdowns and just one interception since.

Defensively , the Giants have played very well. Aside from giving up 28 points to the Vikings, Big Blue hasn’t given up more than 21 in any game since. No team has generated more sacks.

For the Bengals, their lone win is against the Carolina Panthers. However, since Week 1, they have scored 25 or more points in four straight games. This is squarely a defensive issue, wasting an elite stretch from quarterback Joe Burrow.

Burrow has thrown 12 touchdowns to just two interceptions this season. The Bengals four losses have all been within one score. Twice, they've lost on the last play.

This is going to be a tough game both ways as these two teams look to right the ship as they head into the middle of their season. Cincinnati opened as field goal favorites.

The game kicks off on Sunday Night Football at 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
