The Cleveland Browns find themselves in a deep hole as their season continues to unravel. Despite a stout defensive effort, the Browns are 1-4 in the AFC North, with much of the blame landing squarely on the offense.

The inconsistency on that side of the ball has left the defense carrying the load, and now, fans are calling for a change at quarterback after another disappointing loss.

Deshaun Watson, once viewed as a potential savior for Cleveland , has struggled to find consistency. Through five games, Watson has struggled to lead the offense, posting a 60.2 completion percentage, 852 passing yards, 4.8 yards per attempt, 5 passing touchdowns, 3 interceptions, 131 rushing yards, 1 rushing touchdown, and 5 fumbles.

The Browns' inability to score more than 20 points in a game this season has been a glaring issue, and Watson's performance has been the key factor in their offensive decline.

Watson's tendency to focus on the rush rather than downfield targets has led to missed opportunities and unnecessary sacks. His once-renowned mobility has faded, and he now hesitates to use his legs unless there are no other options. His processing speed has slowed, leaving the Browns without the spark they desperately need on offense.

Deshaun Watson now ranks last in the NFL Quarterback Index, placing him at No. 32 . This steep fall adds to the questions regarding whether he’s still a starting-caliber quarterback. Fans have started to call for backups Jameis Winston or Dorian Thompson-Robinson to step in and give the team a new direction.

As Cleveland prepares for a critical stretch of games, head coach Kevin Stefanski faces a tough decision. If Watson’s performance doesn’t improve soon, the Browns may need to consider a quarterback change before the season slips away entirely despite what you’re paying him.

The defense has done its part, but for the Browns to salvage their season, the offense must rise to the challenge and deliver when it matters most.
