Eden Village Advances Tiny Home Initiative for the Chronically Homeless

Tulsa, OK — Eden Village is making significant strides in its mission to provide stable housing for 63 chronically homeless individuals by placing tiny homes onto their foundations. Using a crane, workers and volunteers carefully lowered the first nine homes onto their designated sites, marking a pivotal moment for the project and its future residents.

The initiative gained attention when 2 News began following the village's development progress. Brad Johnson, president of Eden Village, previously shared the organization’s excitement about reaching this stage. “We’re ready to go. We need to get everything permitted and finished,” Johnson stated. “After we get the first pod of nine done, we will keep building pods going east, so we’re hoping to have 36 or 45 completed by Christmas.”

This innovative approach not only provides essential housing but also creates a sense of community for the residents. Each tiny home represents a step toward stability and independence for those who have faced significant challenges in finding safe, affordable housing.

Eden Village's commitment to helping the homeless in Tulsa is a beacon of hope, showcasing the effectiveness of tiny home communities as a solution to housing insecurity. The organization continues to work diligently, aiming to complete additional pods in the coming months, with plans to enhance the overall living environment for its residents.
