Donald Trump's son was caught on Fox News delivering grossly inflated numbers of deaths due to fentanyl. According to Eric Trump , over 300,000 kids have been killed this year.

The video was shared by Immigration Council fellow Aaron Reichlin-Melnick , who said it was wildly off.

"Fentanyl overdoses in 2022 were ~75,000," he posted, citing Center for Disease Control (CDC) numbers .

He pointed out that the best news from the numbers, however, is that "opioid overdose deaths peaked in mid-2023 and have been falling sharply since then."

Emergency room physician, Dr. Ryan Marino , who also serves as a medical toxicologist and addiction specialist in Ohio, weighed in to say that "Eric, is lying."

"Eric isn’t allowed to operate a charity in NY because he has lied about children’s causes for his own personal profit," Marino continued. "Fentanyl overdose *is* now a leading cause of death for teens, but lying about fentanyl is one of the reasons kids continue to suffer outsized harms."

David R. Lurie, a veteran lawyer who has reported at several publications, recalled, "Eric's Dad engineered the defeat of legislation that targeted fentanyl smuggling."

He's referring to the immigration compromise that Republican Sen. James Lankford (OK) crafted to address many of the border concerns. Trump reportedly demanded that the legislation not pass so he could use it as a campaign issue.

Influencer OutSpoken , who has over 130,000 followers, also pointed out, "Not only are Eric Trump’s stats off on fentanyl deaths, police are not running out of Narcan and it can be purchased for less than $50."

Shauna Wright, another influencer with more than 330,000 followers, asked if those 300,000 children were in the room with them right now.
