Caitlin Clark handedly won the WNBA Rookie of the Year Award in her first season with the Indiana Fever - and has already emerged as a favorite to win another major accolade for her second act.

Earlier this month, Clark was officially crowned ROTY by the WNBA , receiving 66 of 67 first-place votes. She fell one vote short of unanimously winning the award, with the single outlier going to Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese .

"I am incredibly honored to be named Rookie of the Year, but more than that, I am grateful to everyone that supported me throughout this past season - my family and friends, my teammates, the Fever organization and everyone that cheered us on all season," Clark said in an official release. "I am so proud of what we accomplished and so excited for what the future holds."

Over 40 regular-season games with the Fever - all of which Clark started - she averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and a league-best 8.4 assists. The star guard finished the year with the most points, assists and 3-pointers by a rookie in league history, additionally setting the single-game and single-season records for assists among all players with 19 and 337, respectively.

As the WNBA playoffs inch closer to a finale - with the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx actively facing off in the Finals - betting websites are beginning to turn their attention to next season. On Thursday, DraftKings Sportsbook posted the opening odds for the 2025 WNBA Most Valuable Player Award, and Clark unsurprisingly ranks among the front-runners.

Taking to social media, CBS Sports’ David Eickholt wrote: "DraftKings has released the odds for next year's WNBA MVP. A'ja Wilson leads the pack at +200. Caitlin Clark has the second-best odds at +250."

Back in September, Wilson was unanimously voted the 2024 Most Valuable Player , securing all 67 first-place votes on ballots submitted by sportswriters and broadcasters. The Las Vegas Aces star subsequently made history by becoming the first WNBA player to be crowned MVP three times over their first seven seasons.

As for Clark, she placed fourth in the MVP rankings with 130 points, nabbing six third place votes, 26 fourth place votes and 22 fifth place votes.

On the heels of her historic rookie campaign, Clark placed little importance on her impressive finish in MVP voting or Rookie of the Year achievement. Instead, the 22-year-old insisted that her main focus was centered on helping her team any way she can.

“I mean, it's cool, but at the same time, I don't really care,” she told reporters ahead of the Fever’s first round matchup versus the Connecticut Sun. “You know, my life is very unaffected by that. I'm just going to try to go out there and help my team.”
