AEW World Champion Bryan Danielson recently appeared on The Uncrowned, where he opened up about his ongoing struggle with neck problems. He explained how these issues affected his performance in his recent match against Kazuchika Okada.

He stated, “Midway through the match, I started losing strength in my legs. There’s a point later in the match where I’m trying to kick him and I can’t turn over my kicks. That’s something that I have the body mechanics to do because I have been doing it for so long, but here I am and I can’t turn my hip over for this kick.”

Danielson further elaborated on his fitness issue. He shared that he consulted his trainer immediately after and they checked on him for half an hour. He continued, “They said it was stemming from the neck stuff. It’s getting to a point where, physically, we’re seeing the signs. I haven’t been sleeping well because I have been having this shooting pain down my arm.”

However, Bryan Danielson has mentioned that this year will be his last as a full-time wrestler. Thus, his recent neck issues suggest that the AEW World Champion may soon hang up his boots for good. It will be interesting to see how his match against Jon Moxley goes this weekend at AEW WrestleDream 2024.
