Therapuss host Jake Shane sparked fear in fans' hearts as he showed off a brutal eye injury he suffered after a freak accident that involved a octopus cake.

Taking to his Instagram Story , the 24-year-old influencer showed off a dark red mark he got after he was shoved head-first into a cake designed to look like a smiling purple octopus. The adorable congratulatory cake is as a call-out to his favorite animal, podcast mascot, and TikTok username @octopusslover8.

The accident occurred when beloved comedian Connor Wood made a surprise guest appearance during Jake's live Therapuss podcast tour stop in Atlanta, Georgia. As the pair posed for a TikTok, Connor playfully shoved Jake's face into the themed cake he gifted for him. But the podcaster was met with a horrific surprise as Jake called out in pain after a stick poked him right beneath his eye.

On his TikTok account, he captured the blunder on video and captioned the video: "A stick went into my eye from the cake." Connor was initially unaware what happened, but after realizing Jake was hurt, Connor mumbled: "Oh sh-t, great, oh my God." After addressing Jake's minor injury, the pair hilariously ended the clip with a selfie together.

Under the clip, stunned fans took to the comments and expressed their relief that Jake was fine despite the "close call." One user commented: "that could've ended so bad, new fear unlocked." Another wrote: "The way you so casually could have actually blinded u if it was a millimeter off." While someone else echoed: "that was seriously such a close call." A fourth asked: "AYOB (Are you okay bestie)."

Many also commented on Connor's reaction, as one viewer penned: "Connor's like 'great now it's not funny.'" Someone added: "Connor being so unfazed has me crying." A third noted: "CONNOR IS SO UNBOTHERED." While one user theorized: "I feel like Jake cried wolf 15 times before that based on Connor's reaction, or Connors done this multiple times with the same results."

But despite the incident, Jake is perfectly fine and continuing on his nation-wide Therapuss tour. Jake's first-ever live show kicked off on Monday, October 7, and will be making stops all across the country up until his last event in Los Angeles on Friday, November 22. Jake has teased that his shows will be an "unhinged” in-person version of his podcast and that every stop will feature new surprise guests and unique interactive elements.

Connor, who is also the host of the Brooke and Connor Make A Podcast, is traveling the nation on his own hilarious Fibs & Friends stand-up comedy tour. Connor's tour has sold-out over 60 shows and is currently being taken nationwide and overseas. His next upcoming event will be held in Memphis, Tennessee and will wrap up on November 27 with an international show held in Dublin, Ireland at the Liberty Hall Theatre.
