Minnesotans may be getting another option for nonstop flights to Europe.

The Copenhagen Airport shared on Facebook that Delta Air Lines will fly nonstop from MSP Airport to Copenhagen beginning in May 2025.

The airport's post adds that it has been almost 34 years since a nonstop route was last offered between Minnesota and the Danish capital.

While the airport announced the new route, Delta Air Lines has not confirmed the addition and did not respond to a request for comment.

The post says Delta will offer three weekly nonstop flights on an Airbus A330-300 with bookings opening on Saturday, Oct. 12. However, details on when the seasonal route will operate have not been revealed.

This news arrives just weeks after Delta unveiled plans for nonstop flights to Rome from MSP Airport , the first time in nearly a decade that the route has been offered. Those flights will begin in May 2025.

Thrifty Traveler, which first reported the news , adds that Delta's lone option for nonstop service to Copenhagen from the U.S. flies out of New York's JFK Airport. The only other options for nonstop service from the U.S. to the Danish capital are with SAS, which has multiple routes to Denmark, and American Airlines' seasonal route from Philadelphia.

Even beyond this unconfirmed new route, access to Scandinavian destinations is becoming easier for individuals flying out of MSP after SAS joined Delta's SkyTeam Alliance on Sept. 1 and, later in the month, announced a codeshare agreement between the airlines.
