This is Moses Sumney. He's a talented singer-songwriter behind the masterpiece that is his song "Plastic." He was also on HBO's The Idol alongside The Weeknd and Lily-Rose Depp .

He's from Asheville, North Carolina, which, as you've seen, suffered catastrophic damage from Hurricane Helene two weeks ago.

A Category 4 storm when it made landfall, Helene brought strong winds and devastating flooding to the area, leaving over 200 people dead.

On Wednesday, Moses posted images of what his home looks like in the wake of the storm:

"Multiple trees hit my home & one went right through the roof," he wrote in the post. "Several skylights broke & my floors sustained water damage. BUT I’m grateful to have my life and still have a home, unlike others."

Moses also said, "I was able to clear out my studio and salvage the valuable items." But "My community won’t have electricity for a long time."

He encouraged readers to donate to local organizers and shared a link to a fund he created for those in need. "Many in Asheville are without power, the entire city is without water for the foreseeable future, and many people (and artists) have lost their homes and businesses," he wrote. "If you can't give, SHARE! The South is heavily underrepresented, and the news cycle is already moving on. We need more people discussing this crisis."
