The Pittsburgh Steelers had a quarterback decision to make this week, as Russell Wilson, who was named the starter prior to the start of the 2024 season, is finally healthy after missing the first five games because of a calf injury.

But it wasn't clear if the team would stick with Justin Fields. Sure, he had been solid over Pittsburgh's first three games, en route to a 3-0 record, but Pittsburgh had lost each of the last two contests, opening the door for Wilson to get his job back.

With the Week 6 game against the Las Vegas Raiders just days away, head coach Mike Tomlin revealed what the plan is for the Steelers under center.

Will Russell Wilson start in Week 6?

Tomlin has revealed that Fields will indeed start another game, marking the sixth week in a row he's getting the nod. However, Tomlin added that Wilson will be active, serving as the No. 2 quarterback.

"I thought he had a good week. He's proven his health," Tomlin said of Wilson . "Now it's just a matter of knocking the rust off ... Yeah, he's probably gonna be active as the No. 2 quarterback. I like what I've seen out here, but again, health and rust are two different things. I thought he had a good week displaying his health, his ability to protect himself. Now it's just a process of getting reacclimated to the ball."

While Fields will get the start once again in Week 6, it may not be long before he gets pulled in favor of Wilson. Fields has been good at times, but certainly not good enough to be locked-in.

If the offense struggles once again, it only makes sense to go back to Wilson to see if he can provide the spark the Steelers need.
