Cowboys Fans React to Dak's 1-Word CeeDee 'Controversy'

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-17 thanks to a game-winning touchdown pass from Dak Prescott to Jalen Tolbert, but it was an interaction between Dak and CeeDee Lamb that, of course, made headlines instead.

Prescott was intercepted on a pass to Lamb in the red zone as the pair just had a miscommunication, and CeeDee was captured saying something to Dak after the play on the sidelines.

Naturally, speculation ran wild, and of course, being the Cowboys, a mountain was made out of a molehill, despite many close to the team, confirming there was nothing to the interaction between the pair, but that didn't stop the media bashing, did it?

Well, Lamb already clarified what was said and now Prescott has given his side, and was all blown out of proportion, as expected.

“Oh, he said, 'Jump ball!' You guys can't read lips to save y'all's lives," Prescott said with a smile on his interaction with Lamb. "That was honestly comical to see social media after the game and to say CeeDee had words for me.

"CeeDee said it best, that guy's my brother we hold each other to very high standard. He literally said, 'Jump ball, 4, jump ball!' That's all he was saying. So yeah, just another example of you guys trying to make nothing into something.”

For the constant Cowboys observer, the relationship between Dak and CeeDee has been well-documented and their closeness is what has made them one of the best quarterback/receiver duos in football. Indeed, while some Cowboys watchers allowed themselves to get overwrought over bad lip-reading, most avoided the emotion and went for the humor.

    "Trade me!'' joked one wag.

But for others (including, weirdly, NBC's Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth), the interaction was a chance to make Dallas a headline for the wrong reason—not its win over the Steelers.

As Dak has previously stated, the locker room is a brotherhood, and no one can doubt how close the pair are.

Of course, anything negative about the Cowboys makes big headlines and draws in viewers, especially when it involves two of the team's biggest stars.

So while the interaction "looked" like it could be something, as Prescott said, all it was, was making "nothing" into national headlines.
