Gavin passed away at the age of 48 on September 30 following a brief battle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer. He was a beloved member of the Broadway community with many credits to his name and a Tony Award win for Hello, Dolly .

Alex , who is also an actor, took to his Instagram account this week to share a tribute to Gavin .
