Christina Hall’s Ex Josh Hall Is Trying to Block Sale of Tennessee House He’s Been Living In

Christina Hall ’s estranged husband, Josh Hall , is trying to block her from selling her Tennessee home that he’s been living in following their split, Life & Style can confirm.

Five days after Christina, 41, announced that her home in Franklin, Tennessee, was on the market on October 4, Josh, 44, asked the court to prevent or postpone the sale of the property, according to documents filed on Wednesday, October 9, and viewed by Life & Style .

While Christina is the sole owner of the house after purchasing it in February 2021, Josh claimed that he has an "appreciation interest" in the property because of the mortgage payments he made during their marriage.

The former couple tied the knot in October 2021, and confirmed their split by filing for divorce in July .

In the filing, Josh claimed that Christina requested they make an agreement to sell the house. He alleged that he rejected the request, though she still moved forward with listing the house.

He then cited a temporary agreement they made in September, which allowed him to live in the property when it has not been rented out to tenants. After noting that he had been staying with family when the house was rented, he argued that his “living expenses will undoubtedly increase” if he’s forced to move.

Christina filed a response one day later and argued that she gave her ex “proper and timely notice" about the listing, according to documents viewed by People . The Christina on the Coast star also claimed that Josh lives with his mother and only uses her Tennessee home as "vacation property."

Josh filed the paperwork after Christina announced that her home was on the market for $4.5 million. “My Tennessee home is officially for sale,” she wrote via her Instagram Stories alongside a photo of the house and a link to the listing. “Excited for a new venture in business & real estate.”

After announcing the sale, she seemingly took a jab at Josh in the following slide. “Time to go back to reality,” the HGTV star wrote. “Remember when you said you would never steal from me or my kids and you would just be happy in a van with your dog. I guess plans changed.”

“All about trying to take everything you can … with your mind on my money and my money on your mind … bye,” she continued.

The comment was likely referencing the $35,000 in rental income that Josh transferred to his personal bank account the day after Christina told him about her plans to file for divorce . “I am asking for Josh to account for the funds taken and return them to me as those funds are specifically used to pay any loans, obligations, property taxes, insurance and maintenance for these rental properties,” she claimed in a previous filing.

Josh responded by claiming that he used the money to pay for expenses associated with the property, and he also insisted that he was responsible for the bills for the home.

They ultimately came to a temporary agreement in which Christina agreed to pay Josh $100,000 to use for bills and attorney fees. Additionally, she also took full possession of their home in Newport Beach, California, and their Eve luxury condominiums in Nashville, Tennessee.
