The first Nashville native artist with his own bar on Broadway. Of course there are plenty of artist-owned bars in downtown Nashville these days. From Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean to Kid Rock, Alan Jackson, Miranda Lambert...the list goes on and on. In just the past 12 months, Garth Brooks, Eric Church and Morgan Wallen have all opened up their own bars on Broadway, while Lainey Wilson has taken over the space that was formerly occupied by Florida Georgia Line. And now Jelly Roll is adding his name to the list. The rapper-turned-country superstar, whose real name is Jason DeFord, announced during an appearance on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast that he would be opening his own bar on Broadway. Jelly revealed that the bar will be called Jelly Roll's Goodnight Nashville, and that it will feature a back bar called Buddy's named after his late father. It looks like the trademark for "Goodnight Nashville" was registered back in July, but Jelly didn't give many details about the new space, including where it will be located or when it's opening, but he did reveal some information about Buddy's bar:
"Our rule is, it's open to the public when it's open to the public. And when it's not it's not." Jelly made the announcement the same day that he released his new album Beautifully Broken, and surprised fans with a deluxe album featuring six additional songs. Between his touring schedule, his community work and his revelation that he wrote 170 songs last year, I'm not sure how Jelly even has the time to open a bar - but sounds like it's coming in the near future.

I think he is a talented artist but he is a hypocrite. How can you advocate so much about sobriety, regardless of pills, meth, alcohol, etc., and OPEN A BAR?!?! 🤔🤔🤔 But I’ll probably be the only person in the entire free world to see it that way. The way it really is…
