Meghan McCain wants Democrats to stop invoking her late father’s memory on the campaign trail — and she’s firing warning shots on social media that there could be more to come.

“Now, I know democrats want to reinvent history and turn my Dad into any illusion you guys need him to be depending on the political moment you need to bastardize his memory for…But please don’t make me start sharing what I remember him ACTUALLY saying about Kamala Harris….” McCain wrote Friday afternoon on X.

She followed up her statement with a second social media post two minutes later with a piece of advice.

“And consider this my final warning shot, I will start spilling tea,” said McCain, the daughter of Republican Arizona Sen. John McCain , who died of brain cancer in 2018.

The comments came after Vice President Kamala Harris spent the last week hopscotching battleground states and appearing in interviews on various platforms, holding rallies and other events where stories of the late senator have been aired.

At a rally Thursday night in Arizona, Harris recalled the night on the Senate floor when John McCain voted with Democrats to save the Affordable Care Act – even reenacting his legendary thumbs-down gesture.

“It was like out of a movie,” Harris told the crowd Thursday. “The wooden doors broke open, and John McCain came walking through the well of the United States Senate and said, ‘No you don’t,’" she said three times while holding her thumb down as the crowd cheered.

McCain, a war veteran and former prisoner of war who was the Republican nominee for president in 2008, served as Arizona’s senator from 1987 until he died at age 81.
