As they have done every year since 1937, the No. 1 Texas Longhorns and the No. 18 Oklahoma Sooners are meeting in Dallas to play the Red River Rivalry at the iconic Cotton Bowl.

This year's meeting will be a bit different, considering it's the first time the two will square off as SEC opponents, but just because they have a new patch on their jerseys doesn't mean they don't hate each other any less. The Longhorns have been the best team in college football, even with quarterback Quinn Ewers missing a couple of games due to an injury.

Both their offense and defense rank among the top units in college football, while Oklahoma is still figuring out its identity on offense. They benched former five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold and are starting freshman Michael Hawkins. As if it isn't weird enough to see an Oklahoma team without an elite quarterback, they also have an extremely stout defense that is one of the best in the country at turning teams over.

The Longhorns are heading into this game as 14.5-point favorites with an 85.1% chance of winning.

We here at Longhorns Country have made our predictions for the iconic game!

This is one of the most balanced Texas teams we have seen in well over a decade, and the same cannot be said about Oklahoma. The Longhorns have a high-powered offense, tenacious defense and most importantly they are relatively healthy. Oklahoma, on the other hand, is down their top five receivers and lack the firepower to match what Ewers and company are bringing to the table.

I think the Longhorns start fast on both sides of the ball and win this game big.

Score Prediction: Texas 35, Oklahoma 17

Oklahoma has a well-coached, disciplined defense under Brent Venables, but it will be no match for a healthy Quinn Ewers. The Sooners are missing their top wide receivers, and the Texas defense will make a statement on Saturday against freshman quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. The Longhorns get their Red River revenge on Saturday with a decisive victory and get one step closer to an SEC Championship.

Score Prediction: Texas 34, Oklahoma 13

It’s nearly impossible to predict how a rivalry of this nature will go. See last year’s 34-30 outcome of No. 15 Oklahoma defeating No. 3 Texas for example. However, Texas is the superior team in all three phases and I believe they will show that on Saturday. The Longhorns may get off to a slow start with Quinn Ewers returning from injury, but ultimately, Texas breaks this game open in the second half. Oklahoma won’t have an answer for Texas’ speed. Unless the Longhorns commit several turnovers, I don’t expect this game to be close.

Score Prediction: Texas 38, Oklahoma 17
