Angel Reese Claps Back at Taylor Swift Stans: ‘Hating Pays Too’

Angel Reese has responded to the Swifties’ criticism regarding her recent podcast episode with Kayla Nicole, Travis Kelce’s ex-girlfriend. During the episode, Nicole discussed her 2022 breakup with Kelce and seemed to address his relationship with Taylor Swift.

The interview on “Unapologetically Angel” gained popularity on social media after Nicole discussed her intermittent relationship with Kelce from 2017 to 2022 and her decision to keep some distance when he started dating Swift. Although she didn’t directly mention the pop singer, her comments were subtle enough for Swift’s fans to draw some connections.

“We’ve seen each other in public spaces before, but due to the nature of his new situation, there’s no room for us to communicate or acknowledge each other publicly without it being spun into something crazy,” Nicole explained. According to Page Six, the Swifties accused Reese of using Nicole’s story for clout. Reese tweeted on X (formerly Twitter): “Hating pays too .”

Despite their breakup, Nicole described the NFL superstar as a “great guy” and said their time together was a positive chapter in her life. Reese’s podcast covers various topics from sports to culture, and she is no stranger to online scrutiny due to her alleged on-court rivalry with fellow WNBA star Caitlyn Clark.

Last year, the Swifties attacked Reese’s appearance by posting unfiltered photos of her with a throw-up emoji, to which she replied, “YOU WILL NEVER MAKE ME HATE ME.” Nicole also had her fair share of harassment from the fanbase on social media.

Before the release of Taylor Swift’s album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” Nicole addressed the online harassment she received from the fanbase on X.

“I’m unproblematic. Mind my business. Never respond to the constant vitriol. Solid as they come & don’t expect a pat on the back for it either. Just know everyone has a breaking point & would love for ‘yall’ (because you know exactly who you are) to leave me alone.”
