Fall in L.A. is off to a starry and philanthropic start. Here's who partook in some of the early season's top cultural events and how it all went down.
Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic
After a few-year hiatus, the famous Champagne house returned to Will Rogers State Historic Park to throw its annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday, Oct. 5 — and fans including Robert Pattinson, Suki Waterhouse and Charles Melton came out to celebrate.
In addition to debuting a new Sun Club experience, Veuve unveiled its Rich and Riche Rose Champagnes — intended to be served on ice or chilled. Once guests had gathered, Erin Palmer Ramirez started things off by signing the National Anthem and Danai Gurira threw the ceremonial ball toss before the game started.
Abbott Elementary stars Quinta Brunson, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Janelle James and William Stanford Davis reunited at one table, while Alessandra Ambrosio watched from another table match-side and Selling Sunset's Chrishell Stause sat with spouse G Flip.
Pattinson and Waterhouse made an early exit — though others lingered even after world-renowned polo player Nacho Figueras and his wife Delfina Blaquier triumphed over Team Will Rogers, with Blaquier taking home the award for MVP. R ead LA Mag's exclusive pre-game interview with Figueras here .
L.A. Loves Alex's Lemonade
One of L.A.'s most popular food fairs brought out the culinary world on Saturday, Oct. 5 — with more than 2,000 people, including over 100 chefs, mixologists and vintners, lending their support to raise funds and awareness for childhood cancer research.
Cooking live from booths at UCLA's Royce Quad were chefs including Adam Perry Lang (whose BBQ offerings always draw one of the longest lines), Jon Shook & Vinny Dotolo (who served buttermilk pancakes), Burt Bakman, Josiah Citrin, Kris & Sarah Yenbamroong, Marc Vetri (who participated in one of the foundation's earliest events in Philadelphia and prepared rigatoni), Susan Feniger and Mary Sue Milliken, Suzanne Goin, Michael Mina (of new Santa Monica restaurant Orla), Kevin Meehan and Zachary Pollack.

Virginia Madsen, Camilla Belle, Timothy Olyphant, Jason Ritter and Jesse Taylor Ferguson wandered the grounds, and Jimmy Kimmel once again lent his support from the stage. The late-night host and his wife Molly donated a dining experience at their Hollywood Hills barn during the live auction — which also included men's and women's chef dinners, and helped raise a record $1.7 million contributed to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation run by Jay and Liz Scott, late founder Alex's parents and co-executive directors.
