Enrique “Kiké” Hernandez made the most of championship game 5 of the National League West Division Series on Friday night, hitting a clutch home run, debuting a new below-the-belt home plate celebration, and dropping an F-bomb on live television. With two outs in the second inning, Hernandez smashed the first pitch from San Diego Padres ace Hu Darvish over the left field fence, giving the Dodgers a precious 1-0 lead. It was Hernandez’s 14th career home run in post-season play and he paused to admire his moon shot as it landed deep in the stands. After crossing home plate, Hernandez greeted Dodgers teammate Gavin Lux, exchanged low fives, and then both athletes thrust their hips together in a “cup bump,” as Sports Illustrated described the intimate celebration that immediately went viral. Hernandez was interviewed live on the field after the game and was asked by a Fox Sports reporter what made this Dodger team special. The star asked if the interview was live, grinned and said, “The fact that we don’t give a F—-!” The F-bomb was not bleeped or censored, and Hernandez walked off to celebrate with his teammates. The Dodgers eventually shut out the hard-hitting Padres 2-0. Federal Communications Commission regulations prohibit broadcasting obscene content and profanity, so Hernandez’s rude comment could cause trouble for Fox.
