Everyone’s Saying The Same Thing About Cam Rising Following Utah’s Upset Loss

Week 7 of the college football season has plenty of marquee matchups.

On Friday night, the Utah Utes faced off against the Arizona State Sun Devils in a Big 12 Conference showdown.

With Cam Rising returning for Utah, it seemed as if the Utes could continue their hot start with a big conference win.

Unfortunately, that wasn't the case, as Arizona State got the 27-19 win in Tempe .

The Sun Devils took a 20-16 lead late in the third quarter and then Utah got within one point with under six minutes remaining.

However, Cam Skatebo's 47-yard touchdown scamper put the Sun Devils up 27-19, which ended up being the final score.

After the game, the performance of Rising was at the forefront. The Utah signal-caller went 16-of-37 for 209 yards with zero touchdowns and three interceptions.

It was a bad effort by the seventh-year senior, and fans couldn't help but agree with how awful he was in the loss.

"Cam Rising throw a football like he can feel it in his joints it’s about to rain," one fan said .

This clip of a movie theater popcorn vendor was something else.

Fans called for Rising to put an end to his long college career.

"Cam Rising hang it up brother you’re washed," one fan wrote .

"Is Cam Rising washed?" the Barstool Big 12 account wrote with a photo attached.

"The Utah coaching staff did a disservice to every player on the team. Cam rising wasn’t even 50 % and they roll with him for no reason other than he’s a nice guy," another fan wrote while sharing a video of one of Rising's interceptions.

Other fans didn't want to admit it, but the time is now for reality to set in.

"Not happy to say it but Cam Rising is not effective anymore. It is over. It's the Grayson McCall thing. It doesn't matter if you're a 13th-year senior. You can't miss that much football for that many injuries and just snap back to being good," another fan said.

"Cam Rising may have genuinely just put together the worst quarterback performance I’ve seen in the last 5 years," said another .

Rising himself even had a brutally honest reaction , per Josh Furlong of KSL.

"Just played like s***," Rising said.

Rising had been out since the September 7th game against Baylor, and he did not look good at all against Arizona State. For what it's worth, Rising didn't have an interception until Friday night, but he made plenty of mistakes and had fans wondering if his time is done in college football.

The Utes next face TCU and then Houston before having another bye, and it will be interesting to see if Kyle Whittingham makes a change at the quarterback position.
