The Week 7 college football slate features some of the most anticipated games of the 2024-25 season, with No. 2 Ohio State facing off against No. 3 Oregon, No. 1 Texas battling against No. 18 Oklahoma and No. 4 Penn State dueling against USC.

Before those Saturday matchups took place, the No. 16 Utah Utes went head-to-head against the unranked Arizona State Sun Devils on Friday night.

Despite the Sun Devils entering the game as 5.5-point underdogs , they took down the No. 16 team in the country, advancing to 5-1 on the season, while Utah fell to 4-2 with the loss.

Arizona State beat No. 16 Utah by a final score of 27-19 in Tempe, Arizona.

With the win, Arizona State stands as the No. 6 team in the Big 12, sitting behind Texas Tech, BYU, Iowa State, Colorado and West Virginia, who are all undefeated in the conference.

The Sun Devils came into the matchup after previously defeating Wyoming, Mississippi State, Texas State and Kansas. Their only loss of the season came against Texas Tech.

In the win over Utah, the Sun Devils were led by an incredible performance from their defense. Arizona State forced three interceptions on Utah quarterback Cam Rising. They caused fits for the 25-year-old signal caller.

Rising finished the game with 209 yards, completing 16-of-37 pass attempts. His No. 1 receiver, Dorian Singer, posted four receptions and 75 yards.

The Utes had success on the ground, with running back Micah Bernard recording one touchdown and 129 yards on 21 carries, but it wasn't enough to live past the mistakes made by Rising.

Utah finished the night converting 7-of-15 third down attempts and 0-of-1 fourth down tries.

Arizona State has made itself a true threat to win the Big 12. They're 2-1 in the conference and have now won back-to-back games, with the win over No. 16 Utah massively boosting the Sun Devils' resume.

Well we knew the Big 12 was wide open from the get go. Just more chaos and fun instead of who is going to be drubbed by OSU this week. Guess it's Oregon's turn.
