The expansion of the Big Ten means some new conference rivalries that used to be reserved for the Rose Bowl. A couple of those will take center stage during the Week 7 college football schedule as No. 2 Ohio State plays No. 3 Oregon and No. 4 Penn State faces USC in the 3:30 p.m. ET CBS game. The latest Week 7 college football odds via SportsLine consensus list the Buckeyes at -3 and the Nittany Lions at -3.5 in their respective matchups. The SEC also has a loaded slate highlighted by No. 9 Ole Miss (-3.5) vs. No. 13 LSU, No. 7 Alabama (-21.5) vs. South Carolina and No. 1 Texas (-15.5) vs. No. 18 Oklahoma in the first SEC edition of the Red River Rivalry.
The action extends well into the evening with No. 18 Kansas State (-3.5) vs. Deion Sanders' Colorado squad and Heisman hopeful Ashton Jeanty and No. 17 Boise State taking on Hawaii on CBS Sports Network, with both those kickoffs coming after 10 p.m. ET. Before locking in any Week 7 college football picks on those games or others, be sure to see the college football betting guide from legendary Vegas handicapper Bruce Marshall .
For years Vegas-based Marshall was synonymous with The Gold Sheet, the famed sports betting newsletter. With a background in play-by-play work and sports information while in college, Marshall joined TGS in 1981 when hired by the legendary Mort Olshan and served as executive editor for many years.
An in-demand guest on numerous sports talk radio and TV shows across the country, Bruce's vast array of editorial work has been featured in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the New York Post and many other outlets. He has won various handicapping titles and also is working on several book projects. Bruce also enters the Week 7 college football schedule on an 18-8 roll (+899) on his official SportsLine college football spread picks.
One of the top college football picks Marshall is recommending for Week 7: He's backing No. 7 Alabama (-21.5) to cover at home against South Carolina in a noon ET kickoff.
This might be a rare buy-low opportunity on Alabama after the Tide were stunned by Vanderbilt in Nashville last week. It was just two weeks ago that Alabama beat Georgia in Tuscaloosa in a game where the Tide led by as many as 28, so the upside is still massive for Alabama despite last week's stumble.
South Carolina, meanwhile, had shown signs of being a team that could be in the SEC mix earlier in the season, but the Gamecocks fell completely flat last week in a 27-3 loss at home against Ole Miss. Marshall expects Alabama to refocus after its embarrassment at Vanderbilt and likes the Tide, a team that is on a 13-7 run against the spread dating back to 2022. He's also backing the Over (50.5) since 12 of Alabama's last 15 games have cleared the total. See which other picks to make here .
