Kike Hernandez stuns FOX Sports with explicit five-word message after NLDS triumph

Kike Hernandez could not hide his emotions after the Los Angeles Dodgers secured a Major League Baseball (MLB) playoff victory over the San Diego Padres on Friday.

The Dodgers took the series 3-2 to extend their run in their playoffs, signing off after edging the Padres 2-0 at the Dodger Stadium. It was an important win for the Dodgers, who secured a spot in the National League Championship Series (NLCS) for the first time since 2021.

It could well mark the start of a new dawn for the Los Angeles franchise, and one of their star man in Hernandez was quizzed on what makes this current crop of players different - and he did not hold back.

Speaking to the Fox Sports broadcast, Hernandez even checked he was live before commenting: "The fact we don't give f---!" Hernandez more than played his part on Friday night, hitting one of the two home runs that helped the Dodgers eventually get over the line.

Hernandez and his teammates are clearly not listening to any outside noise, with the Puerto Rican highlighting the belief the Dodgers have inside their locker room. "Inside those doors, inside those walls, we don’t really care,” Hernandez explained.

“And that’s where, like, not giving a damn comes into play of, ‘I don’t care what anybody says, I don’t care what it looks like, we’re all in this together.’ We believe in each other and we’re going to do whatever it takes to win a ballgame.”

And that belief is clearly high among players and staff alike, with Dodgers manager Dave Roberts clearly looking forward to what could well transpire in the coming weeks for his team. “We talked about this series. It was going to test us, and we fought,” Roberts claimed in the aftermath.

"We didn’t relent, not one time, and I just couldn't be more excited for this ballclub.” As well as all the positivity in the locker room it appears those working above are also experiencing the feel-good factor that is around Dodger Stadium this season. Dodgers president of baseball operations Andrew Friedman could not speak highly enough of the players post-match.

“I can’t say enough about this team,” he said. "Twenty-four consecutive scoreless innings... Our ’pen, they were all incredible. We knew that was a strength of ours coming into the series, but to watch it shine the way it did speaks to not only how talented they are, but what a great culture and environment [bullpen coach] Josh Bard and those guys have created down there. Incredible team effort.”

Attention for Hernandez and the rest of the Dodgers squad will of course turn to the task at hand in the NLCS. It is a quick turnaround for the LA team, who will return to action on Sunday against the New York Mets.
