Welcome back to game day, Penn State fans! The No. 4 Nittany Lions put their 5-0 record on the line today against 3-2 USC. Head coach James Franklin’s team is aiming to buck a bad Big Ten trend that has seen teams from the conference traveling two time zones go 1-8 so far this year. However, context is important: Most of those teams that lost were expected to do so. The Lions are not. But, travel is only part of the test this weekend. The Trojans may be unranked but still possess plenty of skill and talent across the board on offense, which is led by first-year starting quarterback Miller Moss , and defense, which is overseen by coordinator and Penn State alum D’Anton Lynn .

“I think the head coach does a really good job, and has done a good job for a long time, in terms of offense and scoring points and producing yards,” Franklin said Wednesday night. “And I think, here’s a guy [Moss] that I think did it the right way, right?

“You know, he committed the USC, was behind the first pick in the draft, stuck it out, kept learning, got into the bowl game, and played really well, and he knows the system, and he’s prepared, and he’s ready to go. He can distribute the ball to his playmakers. They have playmakers, one of the more talented rosters that we played this year”
