Quarterback Josh Allen took a nasty hit in the fourth quarter of the Buffalo Bills' 23-20 loss to the Houston Texans in Week 5. Allen's helmet appeared to bump the turf at NRG Stadium.

Per Ryan Miller of Democrat and Chronicle, Allen completed a concussion evaluation in four minutes, a relatively fast time to check for a brain injury:

"The process of administering a multifaceted screen for a potential concussion takes at least 10 to 15 minutes, according to a consensus international statement by the Concussion in Sport Group. Allen was in and out of the medical tent in four minutes."

Following the game, Allen said he checked for a concussion after he took a "big shot" to the chest and rolled his ankle.

Per NFL Insider Jordan Schultz, a joint review by the NFL and NFLPA confirmed the Bills followed the proper protocols before Allen re-entered the game.

NFL fans weren't buying the findings of the review on Friday.

"He was out cold on the field," questioned one fan.

"We've investigated ourselves and can confirm we did nothing wrong," one commenter wrote sarcastically.

"So, we need new/more thorough protocols then," suggested one fan.

"He was sleep on the field," pointed out a poster. "Completely knocked out. And he went on to miss less than half a series of football. They didnt even take him back to the locker room for his assessment. It was a joke and i dont believe the NFL one bit."

"NFL protecting one of their golden boys yet again," an upset fan wrote . "Dude was out cold on the field, had to be given smelling salts to go back in and played quite possibly one of the worst games of his career, but yeah the team definitely followed the protocol properly."

Josh Allen was listed on the Bills' Week 6 injury report for a left hand/ankle issue. He was a full participant in practice on Thursday and Friday.
