Ari Announces Departure From Social Media

On Friday (Oct. 11), Ari Lennox informed her fans that she plans to officially leave social media. In a heartfelt Instagram post , the ‘Pressure’ singer announced her plan to delete her accounts on December 18, marking her two-year sobriety anniversary.

“Hey I’m working on a plan to transition off of social media for good. I don’t believe I’ll ever mature and be happy as long as i have it. So my last day of socials will be December 18th, my 2 year sobriety anniversary. I will be deleting my FB, IG and TikTok permanently,” Ari wrote.

Additionally, Ari shared how social media has affected her life and expressed that stepping away from digital platforms will be the best move for her mental health and overall well-being.

“I have a very toxic and codependent relationship with these apps. My happiness is worth more to me, than using these platforms to promote. I truly believe I can get creative with marketing elsewhere. I’m so exhausted with my addiction to the internet and gossip and attention and validation and yearning to be in control and over sharing. I just want to be free and complete,” the message continues.

Along with her life update, the ‘New Apartment’ songstress reassured fans that they can still follow her on YouTube and catch her performances onstage. She also encouraged her supporters to subscribe to her mailing list on her website for updates on her upcoming album and tour.

More Details On Ari’s Sobriety Journey

Ari Lennox’s choice to leave social media comes just over a year after she celebrated being seven months sober in July 2023.

As TSR previously shared , the 33-year-old musician marked the milestone in a now-deleted Instagram post. Back then, Lennox emphasized that the achievement signified “a lot of sober conversations” and “facing things raw and head-on.” She also mentioned that she no longer feels interested in partying.

Furthermore, she also reflected on the rough times she experienced with alcohol. Ari revealed that she had previously suffered from “night terrors” and “panic attacks.” However, since getting sober, she’s developed healthier ways to cope and noted that it feels “nice to remember events as they happen.”

“I like waking up with no hangover or embarrassment. I like waking up with no night terrors and panic attacks from liquor. I’m so raw feeling everything in this world and my coping mechanisms are only healthier now. It’s nice to remember events as they are happening. It’s nice to be present,” Ari stated.
