Tortas Locas & Bakery, a Mexican restaurant and bakery in Sarasota, Florida, was cited for 16 violations during a routine inspection by the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation on October 4, 2024. The establishment, located at 2594 12th Street, received eight high-priority, two intermediate, and six basic violations, state records showed.

Despite these violations, Tortas Locas & Bakery maintains a 4.4-star rating from 133 opinions on Google reviews, suggesting continued popularity among local diners.

A customer named Ebenezer Arturo said recently in a Google reviews post: "Excellent delicious food great fast service. We keep coming back."

Although this Sarasota County eatery wasn't ordered to close, according to state records, it must address the issues before a follow-up inspection. Due to the nature and number of infractions, an administrative complaint was recommended.

High-priority violations centered on unsuitable temperature management of cooked foods, leading to the disposal of pork and chicken due to temperature misuse.
