NEW YORK (1010 WINS) — Separate overnight shootings in Brooklyn and Manhattan early Saturday morning left one man dead and another hospitalized in critical condition, the NYPD said.

The fatal shooting occurred not long before 4 a.m. on Tilden Avenue, near Flatbush Avenue, in Flatbush.

Police responded to the location after receiving reports of a shooting and found 27-year-old Jose Galloway struck multiple times. Six shell casings and one live round were recovered at the scene, police said.

EMS took the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County where he was pronounced dead.

Galloway lived in East New York, about 4.5 miles from where he was killed.

About two hours before the fatal shooting, another man, 40, was rushed to the hospital after being struck by gunfire in Harlem.

Multiple calls reported shots fired just across the street from the 32nd Precinct station house, located on 135th Street between Frederick Douglass and Adam Clayton Powell Jr. boulevards, at about 2 a.m.

Police said that the victim was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Harlem in critical condition after he was shot in the groin.

The circumstances surrounding both shootings were not immediately clear, and there have been no arrests in either case.

Investigations into the shootings are ongoing.
